Bag-in-box is the answer. Fontanaro Farms uses 5L bag in box for Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Bag-in-box is, a double packaging. It comprises of a bag made of a special material suitable for food and of an outer freestanding recycled cardboard box with the list of lawful requirements.
The disposal of the empty bag-in-box is also more environmentally friendly than any other packaging: when empty, transport costs are reduced since there is less volume and weight and when used, the recyclable cardboard wrapping the bag, separates easily, so the various components are sorted out and recycled separately, reducing environmental impact.
Another advantage of bag-in-box packaging is that it preserves, even more, the quality and flavour of its extra virgin olive oil.
