We at Fontanaro have an heritage of 5 generations of passion for producing  Italian  olive oil. For us making olive oil is our life.

Our Italian Olive Oil is tested by the laboratory of the Chamber of Commerce Laboratory of Firenze every year.

The results show every year a very low acidity and very rich in polyphenols, important for the protection of the cardio-vascular system. Our Italian Olive Oil has a very fruity taste with bitter and spicy notes and is very rich of unique taste.

At our own mill, the cold press process is applied within 3 hours of the olive picking to guarantee the very best quality oil.

During the different phases of olive oil production, the temperature is kept at a constant level below 24°C, ensuring a harmonic composition of the different taste that make our oil so special.

This Italian Olive Oil is also registered with the number of 12452846826 at the Department of Health and Human Services – Food and Drug Administration.

All our olives groves are included in the DOP area of Colli del Trasimeno.  Planting the trees, breeding and pruning are still done the traditional way while the oil is extracted in our own mill.

Our Italian Olives are are hand harvested and processed within 3 hours in our own state-of-the-art mill to preserve the highest nutritional benefits and best flavor. During the olive milling, the temperature is kept below 24°C, to protect the subtle and diverse flavors that make our Italian Olive Oil  il Fontanaro so special.

We are environmentally conscious and strive for self- sufficiency, producing enough electricity with solar cells to run the mill and the farm.

We harvest rainwater for irrigation, and mainly use wood for heating. We recycle all the garbage and don’t use any chemicals. The waste products of the oil processing are returned as natural fertilizer to the orchard. Our commitment to the environment is as great as our commitment to quality.

The extra-virgin Olive oil DOP Trasimeno Hills label was established by the European Community, and guarantees the presence of at least 15% Dolce Agogia and Moraiolo oil and 65% Frantoio and Leccino oil. For the remaining 20% other varieties can be used. The oil obtained has a fruity taste with bitter and spicy notes and a color that goes from a yellow gold to green.

All our olives groves are included in the DOP area of Colli del Trasimeno. Planting the trees, breeding and pruning are still done the traditional way while the oil is extracted in our own mill.

The cold press production guarantees that the oil is not altered in its quality, and maintains the features of the fruit.

During the different phases of olive oil extraction the temperature is kept at a constant level ensuring an harmonic composition of organoleptic substances of the oil and a more pleasant taste.
